About University of the Rockies’ Campus
University of the Rockies occupies part of a railroad station that first opened in 1918. For 54 years, it was an active passenger depot for travelers on the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railway. In 1972, the railroad tracks were removed as routes were consolidated.
A highlight of the campus is Rockies Counseling Center. In 2010, the major renovations were completed in the clinic, doubling its size. Rockies Counseling Center now includes a dozen therapy rooms, including spaces that are dedicated to biofeedback and neuropsychology practices, child/play therapy, and therapy that uses music and art. The Center fills two needs: the needs of students to practice their psychotherapy skills and integrate their academic learning in a clinical setting, and the community’s need for a wide range of low-cost psychotherapy and assessment services.
